Karl Boyd to step down after 14 years in the role

Dear Club Members, 

On behalf of the committee and managers of Felling Magpies I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Karl Boyd for his exceptional leadership as Chairman. Your tenure has been marked by significant accomplishments, and we are truly grateful for your dedication, vision, and guidance over the last 14 years.

Under your stewardship, our club has achieved remarkable success and growth. Your strategic vision, insightful decision-making, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in steering us through both challenges and triumphs. Your leadership has inspired us to strive for excellence and to continuously pursue our goals with passion and determination.

When you took over as chairman the club was struggling with just 3 teams and now, we have had over 1500 players who have been part of the growing journey of Felling Magpies. Over 250 coaches and Volunteers, 2 Durham FA Club of the year awards, and a Gateshead Club of the year award.

You have taken the club from training and playing at fiddlers’ field to securing a base for the club at Wardley for a safe environment for the players, to securing investment in Wardley from the football foundation.

Our presentations have grown over the years from Nights at St James Park, City Hall, Sage Gateshead and the Lancastrian Suite. 

You have also helped build strong relationships with the local community and council and partnerships with Newcastle foundation and Nike.

Beyond your professional competence, your personal qualities as a leader have left a lasting impact on each member of the club. Your integrity and genuine care for the well-being of Felling Magpies and its members have created a positive and inclusive environment.

As you transition into a new chapter, we wanted to express our sincere gratitude for your tireless efforts and contributions to Felling Magpies. Your legacy will continue to inspire us as we carry forward the mission and values that you have instilled within our club.

We are confident that your future endeavours will be met with the same level of success and fulfilment that you have achieved during your tenure as Chairman. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours, and we hope that our paths will cross again in the future.

Once again, thank you for your outstanding leadership, dedication, and service to Felling Magpies. Your impact will be felt for years to come, and your presence will be greatly missed.
